    Thanks for the A2A, XNA is a dead project, however an open source clone called MonoGame exists and it has grown to be a lot better than XNA. As for Visual Studio, it’s the best IDE for Windows. However, there is no need to go low level (libraries, APIs and so on) unless you want to develop some kind of custom tech.
